Carport On Gravel. I have fairly well draining sandy loam soil. Some people call them steel buildings.
This is a simple gravel base for the carport floor. I will need 41 x 30 total. I have decided on buying two 20x26 metal carports to put my boats trailer and Polaris under.
Its also a great solution for homes without garages.
This is a great middle-ground between a dirt floor and a concrete foundation. Auger Anchors are sold as an option and may be required when installing a carport over gravel or dirt. Metal carports are made from industrial-grade steel frames with galvanized roofs. This is a more cost-effective option if you are on a tight budget or if you are sheltering items that dont require as much TLC.
